St. Joseph's/Candler radiology department is staffed with highly skilled board-certified neuroradiologists and equipped with state-of-the-art technology that benefits our patients by offering:
- 64-Slice CT scanner that provides:
- CT brain imaging
- CT brain perfusion
- CTA
angiography of the head and neck
- TeraRecon computer-aided reconstruction of 3-D images, which allow for full-color visualization of vascular structures and aides in the evaluation and treatment of vascular disease
- InterSocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL) accredited vascular
ultrasound providing:
- carotid vessel imaging
- arterial and venous assessments
- transcranial doppler (TCD) to rule out vasospasm
- MRI 1.5 Tesla providing:
- MRI of the brain with diffusion weighted imaging
- MRA of the intracranial and extra cranial vessels to evaluate aneurysms and other vascular lesions
- spectroscopy to chemically evaluate normal versus abnormal tissue
- 3-D imaged-guided surgery capability
- Bi-plane angiography in the special procedures suite used for diagnostic imaging and endovascular neurosurgery interventions
