"On May 20,2011 I called the "Nurse Help Line" at SJC. I was short of breath, but did not think I had a serious problem. The nurse suggested I go see my doctor, Dr. Delores Haviland-Foley or go to an emergency room Upon arriving at Dr. Foley's office she immediately sent me to Candler Hospital in Savannah. She entered my information in her computer, which made the emergency room process much faster. I was diagnosed with two pulmonary embolisms ( one in each lung) and spent four days in the hospital. I was very impressed with the professional care and compassion shown by all the nurses and technicians. Especially since this was the first time I had ever stayed longer than over night in a hospital. Thank you for the excellent care given me by all your staff.
A special thanks to nurses: Susan, Stephanie, Jo Jo and Codi, and to all the techs. I passed praises along to a friend who is an employee of Savannah Tech about how impressed I was with the quality of these young adults who were Savannah Tech graduates.
Also B.J. and Liz in the drug trial program have been very helpful both in the hospital and as an outpatient in answering additional questions.
I had my first follow-up appointment with Dr. Foley last week. She is by far the best family practioner in your healthcare system. It is well worth the drive from Hinesville to Pooler to see her when you know she treats each of her patients as if they are her only patient.
