Neurological Rehabilitation
Our rehabilitation team includes neurologists, physiatrists, rehabilitation nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech therapists, pharmacists, recreational therapists, social workers, chaplains and dietitians. The team assesses and evaluates each patient's functional abilities. Individualized treatment goals and programs are then developed in conjunction with the patient and family.
Patients in acute rehabilitation care require:
- 24-hour physician availability
- 24-hour rehabilitation nursing
- intensive therapy (a minimum of physical and
occupational
therapy services, three hours a day/six days a week)
- 7-10 day trial period
- interdisciplinary approach
- medical stability
- significant practical improvement
- identified discharge placement.
Patients in skilled nursing unit care require:
- 24-hour physician availability
- 24-hour skilled nursing
- interdisciplinary approach
- prior hospital stay (greater than or equal to 72
hours within
the last 30 days)
- host hospital medical doctor (in good standing,
responsible for primary medical care)
- medical stability
- realistic discharge plan.
Rehabilitation Services
We provide state-of-the-art rehabilitation care, with a professional staff offering physical, occupational and speech therapy. Home rehabilitation services are available through Home Health, with offices in Georgia and South Carolina. We offer therapy to address:
