“Understanding Infant Adoption,” a series of federally funded trainings, in conjunction with Catholic Social Services, Inc., will be available to members of St. Joseph’s/Candler’s African-American Health Information & Resource Center through a free, day-long session at the center in February.
The training is designed to provide information and help nurses, doctors and social workers to facilitate the message of adoption as an option. The curriculum is meant to arm women with information and counseling regarding unplanned pregnancies in a non-directive, non-coercive manner in order to make an informed decision. The seminar offers participants the opportunity to earn 7.0 CEU and 8.0 Contact Hours at no cost.
The session will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006 at the African American Health Information & Resource Center, 1910 Abercorn St. There will be a continental breakfast, lunch and snacks provided throughout the training.
To register, call 1-888-440-9800.
