Diagnosis

Once you’ve been diagnosed with cancer:

  • Support Groups

    – You will also be encouraged to attend a meeting of the Chrysalis Club, a support group that meets once a month for those who have been recently diagnosed with cancer . Patient navigators and other survivors will lead the group and answer your questions about how to cope, educating yourself about cancer in general and your cancer specifically, resources available to you and other helpful hints.

    • Survivorship Organizer

    – Once diagnosed by a physician connected with the LCRP, you may receive a Survivorship Organizer, a handy carrying portfolio that will help you keep all the information about you and your cancer organized and at your fingertips.
    – Pocket labels include:

    • Appointments
    • Care Plan and Follow-up Care
    • Research and Clinical Trials
    • Chemotherapy/Radiation Side Effects
    • Labs and Imaging
    • Nutrition and Exercise
    • Medical History
    • Support Services
    • Educational and Resource Materials
    • Invoices and Insurance
    • Financial Services.

    – Each pocket contains useful information as well as a place to put the information you gather during your diagnosis and treatment processes.
