Come See the Mobile Mammography Unit at WSAV

Come one, come all. Whether this is your first time at the mobile mammography unit or your third, your first time getting a mammography or your tenth, all participants are welcome. St. Joseph's/Candler is proud to offer this event in conjunction with WSAV to support the local community as one of our annual Paint the Town Pink events.

What is the Mobile Mammography Unit?
The Mobile Mammography Unit allows St. Joseph's/Candler to bring 3D breast imaging to you. We are committed to improving women's health throughout the local communities we serve. While schedules and life can be hectic, the MMU allows a quick and convenient alternative for getting your annual mammogram close to where you live and work.
When is the Mobile Mammography Unit at WSAV?
The unit will be at WSAV on October 21st, from 1 pm to 6:30 pm. Appointment slots are every 15 minutes, so be sure to schedule an appointment ahead of time while times are still open.

Where is WSAV located?
WSAV is located at 1430 East Victory Drive, Savannah, GA 31401. You can view WSAV's location here.
Why is St. Joseph's/Candler holding this event?

St. Joseph's/Candler, WSAV and the Savannah Morning News have partnered to bring you Paint the Town Pink. This annual event helps to raise awareness about breast health and breast cancer. We wanted to make the unit as accessible as possible during the month.

More importantly, we want women to take control of their health and get their annual mammogram. When it comes to breast cancer, early detection is key, and mammograms are a helpful, noninvasive detection technology. Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, St. Joseph's/Candler wanted to boost an initiative to help make it easier for the community to get their annual mammogram.

How do I know if I am eligible for a mammogram?
This is a screening mammogram only. Those who have had a mammogram in less than one year will not qualify. Most insurance plans are accepted, while financial assistance is available to those who qualify. If Oct. 21 is not a convenient date, please call 912-819-6800 to schedule a screening mammogram for any site on a more convenient date.
What if I don't have insurance?
No Insurance? We can help! Women who are uninsured or underinsured could qualify for no-cost breast health services through the Telfair Mammography Fund. These services include screening and diagnostic mammograms, breast ultrasounds, MRI, and image-guided breast biopsies. Call 912-819-7055 to see if you qualify.
What if I miss the event?
Not to worry. The Mobile Mammography Unit has multiple stops throughout the year. You can see upcoming dates and schedules for the Mobile Mammography unit here, or feel free to call 912-819-PINK (7465) to schedule an appointment at one of our five imaging locations.
