Meet Our Residents

The Residency Class of 2024



Candler Hospital PGY1 Class of 2024

 

Dr. Chandler Allen is originally from Warner Robins, Georgia. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy in Athens, Georgia. Dr. Allen’s professional interests include critical care, cardiology, and oncology. This year, his research will evaluate vasopressor requirements in patients receiving IV calcium salts post-cardiac surgery. Upon completion of his PGY1 pharmacy residency, Dr. Allen would like to complete a PGY2 in one of his interests, with the ultimate goal of practicing as a board-certified clinical pharmacist. Outside of pharmacy, he enjoys working out at Orangetheory Fitness, trying new restaurants/coffee shops, and watching The Office.

Dr. Robert Azevedo is originally from Simpsonville, South Carolina. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina before earning his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Presbyterian College School of Pharmacy in Clinton, South Carolina. Dr. Azevedo’s professional interests include internal medicine, critical care, and academia.  Upon completion of his PGY1 pharmacy residency, Dr. Azevedo would like to pursue a career in internal medicine, with the ultimate goal of practicing as a board-certified clinical pharmacist working in a community hospital setting. Outside of pharmacy, he enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family.

Dr. Jason Boone is originally from Marietta, GA. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences from Clemson University in Clemson, SC before earning his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Georgia in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Boone’s professional interests include Infectious Disease, Critical Care, and Internal Medicine. Upon completion of his PGY1 pharmacy residency, Dr. Boone would like to either complete a PGY2 in Infectious Disease or Critical Care, or pursue a career in Internal Medicine with the ultimate goal of practicing as a board-certified clinical pharmacist working in the inpatient setting of a community hospital. Outside of pharmacy, he enjoys exploring seasonal offerings, athletics, and board games.

Dr. Jasmine King is originally from Warner Robins, GA. She earned her Bachelors Degree in Biology from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, GA before earning her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from  Mercer University in Atlanta, GA. Dr. King’s professional interests include ambulatory care and internal medicine.  Upon completion of her PGY1 pharmacy residency, Dr. King would like to complete a PGY2 with the ultimate goal of practicing as a board-certified clinical pharmacist working in one of her areas of interest. Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach, and going to concerts or music festivals. 

Dr. Kelsey Maynard is originally from Greenville, SC. She earned her Bachelors of Science Degree in Financial Management from Clemson University in Clemson, SC before earning her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Presbyterian College School of Pharmacy in Clinton, SC. Dr. Maynard’s professional interests include internal medicine and critical care. Upon completion of her PGY1 pharmacy residency, Dr. Maynard would like to complete a PGY2 in critical care or pursue a career in internal medicine, with the ultimate goal of practicing as a board-certified clinical pharmacist working in one of these areas. Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys baking, reading, and traveling.

Dr. Shelby Wathen is originally from Owensboro, KY. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY before earning her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Samford University McWhorter School of Pharmacy in Birmingham, AL. Dr. Wathen’s professional interests include ambulatory care, critical care, and oncology. Upon completion of her PGY1 pharmacy residency, Dr. Wathen would like to either complete a PGY2 in one of her interest areas or pursue a career with the ultimate goal of practicing as a board-certified clinical pharmacist working in a community hospital. Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys traveling, exercising, and reading.

Dr. Logan Bradley is originally from Statesboro, GA.  He completed his pre pharmacy requisites at Georgia Southern University before earning his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Georgia. Dr. Bradley’s professional interests include informatics and infectious disease.  Upon completion of his PGY1 pharmacy residency, Dr. Bradley would like to continue in pharmacy informatics becoming a board-certified clinical pharmacist in the field. Outside of pharmacy, he enjoys playing tennis, fishing, hosting board game nights with friends.

 

St. Joseph's/Candler PGY2 Programs


St. Joseph's/Candler PGY2 Critical Care

Dr. Zoe Harlas is originally from Las Cruces, NM. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM before earning her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the South University School of Pharmacy in Savannah, Ga. Dr. Harlas’ professional interests include critical care and infectious disease. Upon completion of her PGY2 critical care pharmacy residency, Dr. Harlas would like to pursue a career in critical care, with the ultimate goal of practicing as a board-certified critical care pharmacist working in a community hospital. Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys trying new restaurants around Savannah, traveling, and reading.

St. Joseph's/Candler PGY2 Emergency Medicine

Dr. Anna Phillips is originally from Easley, South Carolina. She completed her pharmacy prerequisites at Presbyterian College before earning her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the  Presbyterian College School of Pharmacy in Clinton, South Carolina. Dr. Phillips’ professional interests include emergency medicine and critical care.  Upon completion of her PGY2 pharmacy residency, Dr. Phillips would like to pursue a career as a board-certified clinical pharmacist working in the emergency medicine or intensive care setting. Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys reading, completing jig saw puzzles and trying new recipes.

St. Joseph's/Candler Ambulatory Care PGY

Dr. Ahmed Abdulrahman is originally from Iraq/Baghdad. He earned his Associate of science degree in chemistry from Georgia state university in Atlanta, Georgia before earning his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Philadelphia college of osteopathic medicine school of pharmacy in Suwanee, Georgia. Dr. Abdulrahman’s professional interests include ambulatory care, and academia. Upon completion of his PGY2 pharmacy residency, Dr. Abdulrahman would like to pursue career in academia and becoming a faculty member to teach pharmacy students, with the ultimate goal of practicing as a board-certified clinical pharmacist working in ambulatory care setting. Outside of pharmacy, he enjoys, traveling, working on sport cars, playing soccer.

Dr. Preston Mayo is originally from Booneville, Mississippi. He earned his Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science in 2019 and his Doctorate of Pharmacy in 2022 from the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy in Oxford, Mississippi. Dr. Mayo’s professional interests include diabetes management, patient empowerment, and increasing healthcare access. Upon completion of his PGY2 pharmacy residency, Dr. Mayo would like to pursue a career in ambulatory care, with the ultimate goal of practicing as a board-certified clinical pharmacist working in a primary care or internal medicine clinic. Outside of pharmacy, he enjoys traveling, photography, and exploring new restaurants in Savannah.
