These are the professionals who guide our residents

Residency Program Directors

Dr. Cody Parker, the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program Director, received his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Georgia. He completed a Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Pharmacy Practice Residency at St. Joseph’s/Candler. Dr. Parker is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Internal Medicine at Candler Hospital and is the Southeast Georgia District Director of the Georgia Society of Health-System Pharmacists (GSHP). He is also a member of ASHP, ACCP, and GSHP and is board certified in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS).

Dr. Devon Burhoe, the PGY2 Emergency Medicine Residency Program Director, received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the Harrison School of Pharmacy at Auburn University.  She completed her PGY1 residency as well as her PGY2 Emergency Medicine (EM) residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Pharmacy/ UI Health in Chicago, Illinois.  She is currently an EM clinical pharmacy specialist at St. Joseph’s Emergency Department.  She participates in hospital wide code response and is BLS/ACLS/PALS and ENLS certified. She is a member of ACCP, GSHP and SAEM and is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine Pharmacotherapy (BCEMP).

Dr. Chelsea Keedy, the PGY2 Ambulatory Care Residency Program Director, received her B.S. in Biology and Doctor of Pharmacy from Western New England University in Springfield, Massachusetts. She completed a Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Pharmacy Practice Residency and a PGY2 in Ambulatory Care at St. Joseph’s/Candler. She is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. Dr. Keedy is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Ambulatory Care at St. Mary's Health Center. She is a Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist (BCACP). She is a member of ASHP, GSHP, ACCP and AACP. She was selected as the GSHP Outstanding New Practitioner of the Year in 2020 and the Outstanding Pharmacy Practitioner Award in 2024.

Dr. John Carr, the PGY2 Critical Care Residency Program Director, obtained his Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Georgia in Athens. He then completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency and PGY2 Critical Care Pharmacy Specialty Residency at St. Joseph's/Candler. He stayed with SJ/C after graduating from his PGY2 to practice as a clinical pharmacy specialist in critical care for seven years, and he is now serving as the manager of clinical pharmacy services. He is a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, member of ACCP, SCCM, and ASHP, certified in BLS and ACLS and board certified in pharmacotherapy (BCPS) and critical care (BCCCP).

Dr. Ashley Woodhouse received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. She completed a Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Pharmacy Practice Residency at SJ/C and is currently the Clinical Quality Coordinator for the St. Joseph's/Candler Physician Network. She serves as the Residency Program Coordinator for our Ambulatory Care PGY2 and Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor for the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. She is a preceptor for Mercer University, University of Georgia, and South University Schools of Pharmacy.  Dr. Woodhouse holds an Ambulatory Care Board Certification (BCACP) and a CDTM license with the state of Georgia. Dr. Woodhouse is an active member of the legislative and pharmacy practice committees for the American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists. 

Pharmacy Managers

Dr. Jessica Lundeen received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. She completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and a PGY2 Pediatrics Pharmacy Residency at Children’s National Hospital. Dr. Lundeen is an Inpatient Pharmacy Manager at Candler Hospital. She is a member of ASHP and PPA, has completed the ASHP Pain Management Certificate, and is board certified in pediatrics (BCPPS). 

Dr. Dustin Orvin received his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. While completing his Pharm.D. he was selected to be the inaugural health care policy fellow under Congressman Earl “Buddy” Carter in Washington D.C. He then completed a Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Pharmacy Practice Residency at St. Joseph’s/Candler Health System. Dr. Orvin is the Pharmacy Operations Manager supporting teams in the Center for Medication Management and Candler Prescription Center. He is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, board certified in Pharmacotherapy, and a member of ACCP, ASHP, and GSHP. Dr. Orvin is a preceptor for 4th year pharmacy students and PGY1 and PGY2 residents.

Dr. Emilee Robertson received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. She completed a Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Pharmacy Practice Residency at St. Joseph’s/Candler and is the second graduate of the Non-Traditional PGY1 Residency Program. Dr. Robertson is an Inpatient Pharmacy Manager St. Joseph’s Hospital. She has completed the SIDP Antimicrobial Stewardship Certification Program. Dr. Robertson has been recognized as an APPE preceptor of the year. She is a member of ASHP, GSHP and is board certified in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS).

Ambulatory Care

Dr. Abby Brown received her PharmD Degree from Presbyterian College School of Pharmacy. She completed a Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) at the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy/Kroger Pharmacy. She then completed a PGY2 in ambulatory care at Campbell University School of Pharmacy & Health Sciences. Dr. Brown is an ambulatory care clinical pharmacy specialist. She is a member of ASHP and the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists and is board certified in ambulatory care pharmacy and advanced diabetes management.

Dr. Melissa Dye received her Bachelor's Degree from Arizona State University and then completed her PharmD at Midwestern University College of Pharmacy in Glendale, AZ. She then completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency with St. Joseph's/Candler Health System (SJCHS). Her PGY2 was in Pharmacy Practice and Academic Administration through South University with an ambulatory care practice site at the primary care clinics within SJCHS. Dr. Dye serves as the team lead for the Ambulatory Care Pharmacists practicing within primary care. She is a Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist (BCACP) and enjoys the interdisciplinary nature of ambulatory care and the diverse patient population and disease states seen in the primary care setting.

Dr. Preston Mayo received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy. He then completed his PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY and PGY2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Specialty Residency at St. Joseph’s/Candler Health System. Dr. Mayo is one of the Clinical Pharmacy Specialists with our Center for Medication Management. He actively follows with patients in our clinic focused on providing comprehensive medication management services, as well as our SJC Physician Network – Eisenhower office.

Critical Care

Dr. Sabrina Croft obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. She completed a Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Pharmacy Practice Residency at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia. After residency, Dr. Croft spent six years as a clinical pharmacist at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina and one year as a clinical pharmacist at Shawnee Mission Medical Center in Kansas City. Dr. Croft is Critical Care Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at St. Joseph's. She is board certified in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) and BLS/ACLS/ASLS certified and a member of ACCP, ASHP, and GSHP.

Dr. Morgan Keller received her B.S. in Interdisciplinary Medical Sciences from Florida State University and her Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from Auburn University Harrison College of Pharmacy. Go Noles! She completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency and PGY2 Critical Care Pharmacy Specialty Residency at St. Joseph's/Candler Health System. Dr. Keller is a Critical Care Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Candler Hospital. She is BLS and ACLS certified and responds as part of the hospital wide code team. Dr. Keller is a member of SCCM, ACCP, and GSHP. Outside of work, she loves to spend time on the water with family, friends, and her dog Trout.

Dr. Sara Anne Meyer received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from South University School of Pharmacy and her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Georgia Southern University. She completed a Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Pharmacy Practice Residency at St. Joseph’s/Candler Health System and a PGY2 in Academic Administration at South University School of Pharmacy with additional clinical practice and training at St. Joseph’s/Candler. Dr. Meyer is the Cardiology Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at St. Joseph's Hospital, primarily covering the CCU/CVICU, and is a Clinical Adjunct Professor with the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. Dr. Meyer is BLS, CSU-ALS and ACLS certified. She is a member of ACCP, ASHP, GSHP, is an Associate of the American College of Cardiology (AACC), board certified in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) and is a Board Certified Cardiology Pharmacist (BCCP).

Dr. Hal Richards obtained his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. After graduation he completed a specialty residency in Critical Care/ Nutritional Support at University of Arizona in Tucson. Upon graduation he became a clinical pharmacist on the Kidney-Liver-Pancreas Transplant Team at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Richards is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Critical Care and Nutritional Support at St. Joseph's/Candler. His academic appointments are to University of Georgia College of Pharmacy, Mercer University Southern School of Pharmacy and South University School of Pharmacy. Dr. Richards is board certified in nutrition (BCNSP). Dr. Richards served in the role delineation study for the BPS specialty in Critical Care Medicine; afterward he served on the initial BPS Critical Care Council for six years as vice chair and chair for four years. Dr. Richards completed his tenure on the Critical Care Council and was appointed to the BPS Board of Directors where he served two three-year terms. Dr. Richards is currently serving on the BPS Pain Management Specialty Council assisting with the development of that specialty. 

Emergency Medicine

Dr. Wes Arrison received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy. He completed a Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Pharmacy Practice Residency at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN., and a PGY2 in Emergency Medicine at St. Joseph's/Candler. Dr. Arrison is one of the Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacy Specialists at Candler Hospital. He is BLS/ACLS/PALS certified and responds as part of the hospital wide code team. Dr. Arrison is board certified in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) and Emergency Medicine (BCEMP).

Dr. Erica Merritt received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. She completed a Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Pharmacy Practice Residency at St. Joseph’s/Candler and went on to develop the Emergency Medicine pharmacy practice and PGY2 Emergency Medicine residency within the health system. Dr. Merritt is one of the Clinical Pharmacy Specialists in Emergency Medicine at St. Joseph’s/Candler, and served as the PGY2 Emergency Medicine Residency Program Director for 10 years. Dr. Merritt is BLS, ACLS, PALS and ASLS certified and responds as part of the hospital wide code team. She is an adjunct clinical assistant professor with the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy and is a member of SAEM, ACCP and ASHP. She is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) and a Board Certified Emergency Medicine Pharmacist (BCEMP).

Dr. Megan Cavagnini received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy. She completed her Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Pharmacy Practice Residency at the University of North Carolina Medical Center. She then completed her PGY2 in Emergency Medicine at the University of Kentucky HealthCare. Dr. Cavagnini is an Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at St. Joseph’s and participates in the hospital wide code response. She is ACLS and PALS certified and is a member of ACCP. She is board certified in emergency medicine (BCEMP).

Infectious Diseases

Dr. Geneen Gibson received her BS in Zoology from the University of Georgia and Master of Science in Microbiology from the University of Florida. She was employed as a microbiologist for 15 years with the VA Medical Center in Gainesville and Bay Pines, Fl. She is certified as a Specialist in Microbiology by the American Society for Clinical Pathology. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from University of Florida and completed a Pharmacy Practice and Infectious Disease Specialty residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Gibson is board certified in Pharmacotherapy and certified in Antimicrobial Stewardship. With the Director of Pharmacy and an Infectious Disease physician, she established the Antimicrobial Management Program and Committee in 2011. Dr. Gibson is currently a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Infectious Diseases for St. Joseph’s/Candler Health System and an Advocacy Captain for the Infectious Disease Society of America. She is a member of ASHP, GSHP, ACCP, IDSA, SIDP, and MAD-ID.

Dr. Natt Patimavirujh received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. He completed a Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Pharmacy Practice Residency at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana and a PGY2 in Infectious Diseases at Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, Florida. Dr. Patimavirujh is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Infectious Diseases at St. Joseph’s/Candler and is a co-leader of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (AMP). He is a member of IDSA, SIDP, and GHSP. He is a board certified in Infectious Diseases (BCIDP). 

Internal Medicine

Dr. Shaily Doshi received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. She completed her Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Pharmacy Practice Residency at Augusta University Medical Center. She then completed her PGY2 which was a combined infectious diseases and internal medicine residency at WakeMed Hospital & Health Systems in Raleigh, North Carolina. Dr. Doshi is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at St. Joseph’s Hospital with clinical practice primarily in internal medicine with coverage of CCU as well as ICU/NICU. She is a member of ASHP and ACCP and is board certified in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS).

Dr. Abigail Hamlin received her degree from the University of Georgia. She completed a Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) at St. Joseph's/Candler Health System. Dr. Hamlin is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Internal Medicine at St. Joseph's Hospital and serves as a preceptor of both students and residents. She is an active member of ACCP and ASHP and is Board Certified in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS).

Dr. Kathryn Huelfer received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Wofford College and her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. She completed a Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) at St. Joseph's/Candler. Dr. Huelfer is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Internal Medicine at St. Joseph's Hospital. She serves as a preceptor to both residents and students and as St. Joseph's Hospital Formulary Liaison to the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. She is a member of ASHP and ACCP and GSHP and is board certified in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS).

Dr. Blake Meeks received his B.S. in Applied Mathematics from Armstrong State University and his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Mercer university.  He worked one year of retail pharmacy at Publix before transitioning to inpatient pharmacy at St. Joseph’s/Candler.  He has been working as a Clinical Pharmacist at St. Joseph’s/Candler since 2016.

Dr. Peterson Worrell received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Mercer University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. He went on to complete a Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Pharmacy Practice Residency at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia. After residency, he spent 12 years practicing within the Internal Medicine department at Memorial Health University Medical Center specializing in both Internal Medicine and Psychiatry. During his time at Memorial Health University Medical Center, Dr. Worrell also assisted in coverage of the Emergency Department in addition to serving on the Pharmacy Department’s Research Oversight Committee. Dr. Worrell is currently a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) and a Board Certified Psychiatric Pharmacist (BCPP).

Medication Safety

Dr. Amanda Winslow received her B.S. in Biology from the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from South University School of Pharmacy in Savannah, GA. She  completed a Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Pharmacy Practice Residency at St. Joseph’s/Candler. Amanda currently serves in the role of Medication Safety Specialist at St. Joseph’s/Candler. She is also a Clinical Assistant Professor with UGA and precepts IPPE students, APPE students and PGY1 residents. She is an active member of ASHP and GSHP, and is Board Certified in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS).

Oncology

Dr. Melissa Coursey received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Mercer University. She is currently the clinical oncology pharmacist at Candler Hospital and has worked with the health system for more than 10 years. She has experience with both inpatient and outpatient oncology services.

Pediatrics

Dr. Julie Boatright obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy and was employed for several years as a clinical pharmacist at St. Joseph’s/Candler prior to completing her PGY1 residency at St. Joseph’s/Candler. Dr. Boatright was instrumental in developing our Non-Traditional PGY1 program and was our first resident graduate of this program. Dr. Boatright is the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist for Pediatrics at Candler Hospital and serves as a preceptor for the medication use evaluation longitudinal experience.  She is BLS/PALS certified and board certified in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS).

Outside Faculty Practitioners

Dr. Chris Bland received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of South Carolina in 2000. He is the Albert W. Jowdy Professor in Pharmacy Care at the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy, Southeast campus in Savannah, GA Dr. Bland spent nearly 15 years at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta, GA as a clinical pharmacy specialist prior to accepting his position with the University of Georgia in 2015. Dr. Bland's primary practice area is Infectious Diseases where he practices at St. Joseph's/Candler Health System. He is Board Certified in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) and a fellow of both the Infectious Diseases Society of America and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. He is the co-founder of the Southeastern Research Group Endeavor (SERGE-45) - a practice, based research network of nearly 50 hospitals primarily in the Southeast. He is also the co-founder of Teach Me Pharm, a video-based learning platform. He is a co-author of a book entitled “InteGREAT: A Guidebook for Creating Great Healthcare Teams.”

Dr. Stephen McCall received his PharmD Degree from University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. He completed a Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) at St. Joseph's/Candler Health System and as well as a PGY2 in Critical Care at St. Joseph's/Candler Health System. He worked as an ED/ICU/Internal Medicine Pharmacist helping orient new residents before transitioning to Academia at South University with an Emergency Medicine Practice Site at St. Joseph's. He is a member of ASHP, ACCP, and SCCM and he is BCPS and BCCCP certified.

Dr. Mackenzi Meier received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyoming. She then completed a her PGY1 and PGY2 in Ambulatory Care at St. Joseph’s/Candler Health System. Dr. Meier currently serves as Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice at South University School of Pharmacy. She maintains an Ambulatory Care practice site at Good Samaritan Clinic in Garden City, Ga. Dr. Meier is a member of Georgia Society of Health-System Pharmacists and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. She is board certified in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) and Ambulatory Care (BCACP).

Dr. Misha Thomason Watts, received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of South Carolina. She completed a Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Pharmacy Practice Residency at Memorial Health University Medical Center. Dr. Watts is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Geriatrics at St. Joseph’s/Candler.  She serves on faculty at the University of Georgia as the Campus Director for Pharmacy Practice Experiences for Southeast Georgia and as the Savannah Extended Campus Coordinator. Prior to her role at UGA, she spent six years in internal medicine based clinical pharmacy and 12 years in hospital pharmacy management at Memorial Health University Medical Center. She is an active member of American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), ASHP and GSHP.
