Partnerships for Improved Health
St. Joseph's/Candler is affiliated with a wide range of local and regional institutions and programs to ensure that our patients get the best possible care for any condition they have.
Our Local Partners
On a local level, St. Joseph's/Candler is involved with organizations such as the YMCA of Coastal Georgia. We also are associated with a number of local healthcare facilities, including Georgia Infirmary Day Center for Rehabilitation, Radiation Oncology Center and Appling HealthCare System.
Our Regional Partners
On a more regional level, we have affiliations with Emory University, Nemours Children's Clinic, Mayo Clinic Jacksonville, and our most recent partnership is with the Medical College of Georgia to assist in the training of third- and fourth-year medical students by serving as a site for their clinical rotations through private physicians.
Emory Healthcare - This partnership provides ongoing liver and kidney transplant services by the Transplant Section of The Emory Clinic. Local liver and kidney clinics are held monthly to provide patients in the community with access to transplant specialists without traveling to Atlanta. (Atlanta)
Medical College of Georgia - The Medical College of Georgia (MCG) is Georgia's health science university with schools of allied health sciences, dentistry, graduate studies, medicine and nursing. The MCG School of Medicine has community education sites across southeast Georgia, including in Valdosta, Waycross, Blackshear, Jesup, Brunswick, Eastman, Savannah, Statesboro and Dublin. Our affiliation with MCG is centered around assisting in the training of third- and fourth-year medical students through clinical rotations with local specialists in private practice.
