Telfair BirthPlace: Prepared Childbirth Class (two-day class)

All visitors (expecting mom and one guest) will be required to follow hospital visitation policy. 

All attendees must wear a mask at ALL times during the class or a tour. REMINDER: The Childbirth Preparedness Class is a TWO-DAY class, almost eight hours long on Saturday and several hours to follow on Sunday.

We ask if you have a fever, cough or are sick with any illness please do not attend. Refunds can be issued.

Proper social distancing measures will be followed.

For the foreseeable future, Tea and Tour remains canceled.

You can trust that the Telfair BirthPlace and St. Joseph’s/Candler are taking all necessary precautions to keep you and your baby safe while preparing you for this exciting journey.

Additionally, we continue to monitor COVID-19 cases in our region. If a decision is made to cancel future classes, it will be done so with your best interest in mind. You will be notified immediately and any appropriate refunds will be issued.

This two-day series is taught by a Certified Labor and Delivery RN. This series helps to prepare the expectant parents for their labor and delivery experience. Subjects include anatomy and physiology of the birth process, techniques in coping with labor and an emphasis on positive effects of the labor support person. Begin classes in the 7th or 8th month of pregnancy. Target audience: Expectant parents. Classes start monthly.

Saturday class: 9:00am - 5:00pm
Sunday class: 1:00pm - 4:00pm

Adults Only - Space is limited! Dress Casually. Bring 2 pillows & 1 Blanket. Bring Proof of Insurance Card to class with you.

The cost is $70 per couple. (Please select 1 for number of guests attending to be charged $70.)

Medicaid patients: Please call our Central Referral Office at 912-819-3360 to enroll in the two-day class.
