DAISY Award Nominations

Want to thank your nurse for extraordinary care? St. Joseph’s/Candler is excited to announce its participation in The DAISY Award. The award recognizes nurses nominated by patients or family members for going above and beyond to provide high-quality care. Daisy Logo

DAISY stands for Diseases Attacking the Immune SYstem, and was started in 1999 by the family of 33-year-old Patrick Barnes who died of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Purpura. Patrick’s family was so impressed with the nursing staff during Patrick’s hospital stay that they went on to start a non-profit, The DAISY Foundation, and created this award. Today, there are more than 2,300 healthcare facilities around the world committed to honoring their nurses with The DAISY Award. More than 70,000 nurses have been honored, and more than 750,000 nurses nominated.
