Looking for a cool, refreshing drink on a hot summer day? We suggest our cherry almond smoothie.

Smoothies can be great for a quick breakfast or afternoon snack. They are also an excellent source of calories and essential nutrients for patients undergoing cancer treatment.

That’s why we asked our dietitians at the Nancy N. and J.C. Lewis Cancer & Research Pavilion to come up with a tasty and healthy smoothie recipe that can be enjoyed by all.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1 cup frozen cherries
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 1/2 cup milk of choice
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt

DIRECTIONS

Combine all ingredients in a high-speed blender and blend until silky smooth. Pour and enjoy!
