Food for Thought: Super Good Cauliflower Wings
No deep-frying. No heavy fats from meat. Plenty of tangy goodness and a perfect addition to your football-watching party.
Baked cauliflower can give you that satisfying, low-calorie crunch while also providing vitamins C and K as well as folate and many other nutrients.

Ingredients
- ⅔ cup all-purpose flour (lightly spooned and leveled)
- ¼ cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
- 1 teaspoon granulated onion
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- ¾ cup water
- 1 cauliflower, about 2 pounds, broken into large florets
- Buffalo sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 450°F and line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, granulated garlic, granulated onion, paprika, and salt. Add the water and whisk until smooth. Add the cauliflower florets and stir to coat.
- Lift the cauliflower florets out of the batter and arrange in a single layer on the prepared baking sheets. Bake for 10 minutes. Carefully flip the florets and bake for another 10 minutes.
- Remove florets from the oven and toss in buffalo sauce. Bake for another 12 to 15 minutes, or until cauliflower is crisp around the edges.
- Remove from the oven and brush with more buffalo sauce. Serve with a ranch dip and other crunchy, healthy vegetables such as carrots or celery.
