To support you through this journey, we are proud to offer the dedicated services of a full-time Financial Navigator. This resource is here to help you understand your financial responsibilities and explore options to ease any burdens, giving you the peace of mind to focus on your health.

The Financial Navigator is available to assist with:

  • Understanding your financial responsibility for treatment
  • Reviewing your insurance coverage and clarifying what is included
  • Exploring available payment options
  • Finding assistance programs, such as drug co-pay resources
  • Determining qualifications for government programs like Medicaid or disability

We understand that a cancer diagnosis can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to face this alone. Our Financial Navigator is here to guide you every step of the way.

Convenient access to financial guidance

The Financial Navigator’s services are free to all patients, including those receiving care in South Carolina. Whether you prefer to meet in person, over the phone, or via email, help is available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with no appointment needed. The Financial Navigator is located in the Radiation Oncology Suite at the Lewis Cancer & Research Pavilion.

Do I need a referral to see the Financial Navigator?

No referral is needed! While your physician or nurse navigator might suggest this service, you’re welcome to reach out to the Financial Navigator on your own at any time.

Is it necessary to meet with the Financial Navigator in person?

Not at all. Our Financial Navigator is available to assist you in person, over the phone, or via email—whichever works best for you. This flexibility ensures that every patient at can access the support they need.

Do I need to schedule an appointment?

Appointments are not required. However, giving the Financial Navigator a quick call before dropping by can help confirm availability and ensure you receive prompt assistance.

Can I bring family members to my visit with the Financial Navigator?
